About the role

  • Director of Reserving overseeing actuarial analysis within Workers Compensation Division at Berkshire Hathaway. Conducting key driver research and reporting findings to Senior Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee quarterly analysis of loss and loss adjustment expense reserves
  • Provide data to Finance Department for external financial reporting
  • Conduct research into key drivers affecting loss reserves
  • Communicate findings to Senior Leadership with effective data visuals
  • Prepare and present ad-hoc research and reporting

Requirements

  • Experience in actuarial analysis and reserving processes
  • Strong knowledge of loss and loss adjustment expense reserves
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings to Senior Leadership
  • Ability to manage and direct a team
  • Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools
