About the role
- Mechanical Design Engineer designing and developing mechanical components and assemblies for Belden. Collaborating with teams globally and overseeing projects from concept to production.
Responsibilities
- Concept, design, and development of mechanical components and assemblies
- Creation and evaluation of mechanical design concepts
- Procurement/build and verification of prototypes
- Preparation of manufacturing and assembly drawings
- Interdisciplinary collaboration with various teams
- Creation and maintenance of requirements and design specifications
- Support of projects throughout the product lifecycle
- Conducting design reviews, FMEA, and tolerance analyses
- Change management for products in series production
- Participation in feasibility studies and simulations
Requirements
- Degree in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or a comparable technical field
- Ideally, prior experience in the development of electronic enclosures for harsh environments
- Very good knowledge of CAD systems (e.g., SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor)
- Experience with PDM/PLM/SAP systems
- Knowledge of structural, FEM, or thermal simulations is an advantage
- Experience in manufacturing and assembly technology
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Fluency in English
