Occupational Health and Safety Advisor role involved in supporting construction operations in Scotland. Responsible for health and safety compliance, training and investigations across various sites.
Responsibilities
Support construction operations in our Scotland region.
Participate in sharing best practice.
Keep H&S Manager informed regarding compliance with support procedures.
Perform the duties of H&S Adviser in accordance with relevant statute.
Advise management on preventing injury and damage.
Improve existing safe working methods.
Maintain links with authoritative bodies.
Assist in ensuring formulation and monitoring of BAM’s Health & Safety Policy.
Liaise with BAM Design Managers for legal compliance.
Carry out site inspections and audits.
Investigate and report on accidents or dangerous occurrences.
Assist with safety training for employees.
Requirements
A degree is preferable but not essential.
NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum)
Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards it
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint plus other digital technologies
You will be self-motivated and enthusiastic
Ability to work with little direct supervision
Exemplary written reporting skills
Time management and organisation skills to a high level
Ability to present to large and small groups including delivery of formal training courses
You will be able to research subjects and report on your findings
Clean UK driving license and willingness to travel to other UK locations.
