Commissioning Field Engineer overseeing mechanical systems testing in data centers for a multi-discipline engineering firm. Requires extensive travel across the U.S. and hands-on mechanical testing experience.
Responsibilities
Perform commissioning and/or QA/QC testing oversight of mechanical equipment.
Manage Commissioning and Testing Projects (client, internal team and project financials)
Lead projects and write proposals, test scripts and reports
Mentor and train other Commissioning team members
Coordinate invoicing with Accounting Department
Attend conferences and networking events periodically
National travel needed as necessary to complete Commissioning & Testing activities at client sites with reimbursement of expenses for travel/ lodging/car rental/meals.
Requirements
BS Mechanical Engineering (or similar qualification)
Mid-level commissioning engineer (7+ years experience)
Data center experience (required)
Must be willing to travel across the U.S. for extended periods of time required to support project construction schedules and be willing to work various hours (days, night and weekends)
Hands on experience with mechanical equipment testing is a must
EIT/PE/CPMP a plus
Military background in mechanical systems operation and repair a plus.
Hardworking and well-motivated engineer with the desire to learn and solve problems
Proficient technical writing skills (proposals, test scripts and reports) and communication skills
Ability to work in office and client sites (new construction and existing facilities) with driver’s license.
Background check & drug screening may be required by client for onsite projects
