About the role
- Systems Manager overseeing rail and transit systems engineering for Calgary Green Line project. Leading technical authority in systems integration and multidisciplinary coordination across engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage complex rail and transit systems engineering workstreams
- Ensure successful delivery of design and construction of communications systems, Signaling and Train Control Systems, Traction Power System, Overhead Catenary System, Light Rail Vehicle and Track
- Act as a senior technical authority for rail control systems
- Provide technical supervision, project management and strategic direction guidance for teams under each system
- Oversee multidisciplinary coordination across engineering teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders
- Manage technical quality, risk, and compliance with applicable transit standards, codes, and regulatory requirements
- Drive the delivery of systems construction and installation activities in the field as required
- Support Systems Engineering, Systems Assurance and Testing and Commissioning deliverables
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Systems, Signaling, or a closely related discipline)
- 15+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering on major rail/transit, infrastructure, or complex systems projects
- P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration is strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience delivering systems in a multi‑contract or multi‑discipline environment (Delivery Partner, Owner’s Engineer, EPC, P3, etc.)
- Experience with systems integration of signaling, communications, traction power, SCADA, station systems, and rolling stock
