About the role

  • Piping Engineer delivering piping solutions for nuclear stations at AtkinsRéalis. Engaging with clients and supporting nuclear operations while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Leading projects to deliver piping solutions for the construction of new nuclear stations
  • Supporting the operation of the existing nuclear generating fleet
  • Decommissioning nuclear sites
  • Engaging with clients and understanding their issues, goals, and processes

Requirements

  • Degree qualified mechanical engineer (or other relevant qualification)
  • Experience in piping and/or pressure vessel design and stress analysis
  • Experience in writing accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports
  • Comfortable with engaging with existing and prospective clients
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or equivalent
  • Technical practitioner able to demonstrate good engineering judgement
  • Experience with working in a safety critical and heavily regulated environment (desirable)
  • Working towards chartership with a relevant professional institute (desirable)
  • Experience with design codes such as ASME BPVC Section III, RCC-M, BS EN 13480, BS EN 13445 (desirable)
  • Awareness of UK legislation relating to piping (desirable)
