About the role
- Cloud Solutions Architect implementing data infrastructure for mission-critical software at Astronomer. Engaging with customers in EMEA to deliver technical solutions leveraging Apache Airflow.
Responsibilities
- Implement Astronomer’s software and services in the core of some of the world’s largest businesses and organizations.
- Guide our largest and most complex customers in their Apache Airflow journeys.
- Act as the core interface between the Customer, Sales, and Product to ensure that the broader solution around the platform is solving pain points and bringing value to customers.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a data infrastructure role or equivalent role.
- Strong Kubernetes experience (GKE/EKS/AKS or OpenShift preferred).
- Proficiency in Python/Go.
- Good understanding of network complexities and architectures.
- Versatile Terminal and CLI user, as this will be a hands-on role, and frequently without access to a GUI.
- Experience setting up and troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Experience with complex SaaS infrastructure operating at scale.
- Experience with at least one major cloud provider API/tooling.
- Cloud-native data architecture experience.
- Strong customer-facing skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills - should be able to explain complex technical issues to non-technical folks succinctly.
- 1+ year in a customer-facing role (bonus points).
- Prior experience using or administering Apache Airflow, Autosys, UC4, Temporal, Dagster, or Prefect (bonus points).
- Enterprise data experience with or in regulated environments (bonus points).
- Experience with scripting/automation, specifically infra (Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible, etc.) (bonus points).
- Experience with ElasticSearch/Prometheus/Vault (bonus points).
