About the role

  • Director leading initiatives to enhance the value of postsecondary education at the Aspen Institute. Focusing on improving student outcomes and economic mobility through educational reforms and partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboratively develop the postsecondary value strategy
  • Lead and manage Unlocking Opportunity and related initiatives
  • Partner with CEP's Executive Director to scale impact
  • Hold responsibility for executing a research agenda
  • Engage with higher education leaders to identify strong practices
  • Lead project management and mobilize teams
  • Build and manage external relationships and fundraising efforts
  • Collaborate with colleagues and execute strategy

Requirements

  • Substantive professional experience in higher education
  • Knowledge, skills and experience in educational practice, institutional leadership, or policy research and analysis
  • A track record of leading or directly supporting change at colleges and universities
  • Ten years of management experience and an advanced degree (preferred)
  • Outstanding communication and relationship skills
  • Existing relationships in the higher education and/or workforce sectors are a plus
  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising
