About the role

• Global Category Director overseeing procurement strategies and stakeholder collaboration for Asahi in Singapore, focusing on sustainable sourcing and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of Global Procurement’s purpose, vision, strategies, and governance frameworks.
• Provide strategic leadership to the Global Procurement team, ensuring clear goals, strong culture, and alignment with the People strategy
• Drive global category strategies and strategic sourcing plans to maximize business value and ensure operational excellence.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key global suppliers and stakeholders to enable collaboration, quality assurance, and performance delivery.
• Champion sustainable procurement, innovation, and responsible sourcing practices across all categories.
• Safeguard company assets through effective internal controls, governance, and policy adherence.
• Manage budgets, cost centres, and risk (price volatility, supplier stability, and supply continuity) to optimise financial outcomes.
• Represent Procurement in global committees and lead continuous improvement to align with Asahi’s strategy and external best practices.

Requirements

• University degree in Business or a related field, Master’s preferred
• Proven ability in leading Raw Materials category strategy and procurement initiatives in complex
• Experience and understanding of complex multinational environments, preferably in alcohol, beverage, or FMCG sectors
• Strong strategic thinking, team leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
• ·Solid understanding of procurement platforms such as Ariba and advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• A passion for sustainability, innovation, and delivering meaningful impact through procurement
• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
