About the role
- Senior Interior Designer responsible for creative direction and design delivery across property portfolio. Leading design initiatives in a hybrid workspace in Cape Town, South Africa.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing properties with a high level of detail and spatial awareness.
- Developing and applying interior design concepts informed by buyer profile, location, property type, and target guest experience
- Applying available budgets strategically to maximise impact, value, and return on investment without compromising design integrity
- Creating concept designs, moodboards, and design narratives at proposal stage
- Leading the design portion of sales pitches, confidently talking clients through design intent, scope, and commercial rationale in a warm, engaging, and confident manner
- Acting as the design expert and go-to point of contact for all design-related queries once a project has converted
- Working closely with the Project Manager to support delivery through clear design guidance, clarifications, and interventions as required
- Creating scaled furniture layouts and leading furniture selection, specification, and implementation
- Collaborating closely with Design, Operations, and wider stakeholders to ensure design intent is maintained throughout delivery
- Strong technical interior design capability, including proficiency in CAD for scaled layouts and technical drawings
- Confident use of Canva to produce polished design presentations, moodboards, and proposal materials
Requirements
- At least 3 years’ experience in an Interior Design role, ideally within residential, hospitality or short-term rental environments
- Experience working in international property markets is beneficial but not a prerequisite.
- A relevant degree or equivalent professional qualification in Interior Design or similar
- Comfortable working with Canva, CAD, Houzz Pro and monday.com
- A strong design sensibility with the ability to create consistent, scalable interior schemes
- Commercially minded, with a clear understanding of ROI and value-driven design
- Able to carry projects from proposal stage through to final delivery with minimal oversight
- Own high-performance laptop capable of running multiple design tools (dual screens preferred)
