About the role
- Claims Specialist managing Excess Casualty claims and providing oversight to claims handlers at Arch Insurance Group. Focus on high severity and complex general liability claims across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Actively managing commercial claims for unsupported Excess Casualty high severity, complex general liability, and auto accounts
- Providing oversight to underlying carrier(s) claims handlers for coverage, liability, and damages in jurisdictions throughout the United States
- Identify and assess coverage issues, draft coverage position letters, and retain coverage counsel when necessary
- Develop and implement strategy relative to coverage issues which correlate with the overall strategy of matters
- Negotiate resolution of claims and select and utilize structure brokers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of working experience in lieu of degree
- Seven to ten (7-10) years of working experience with a primary and or excess carrier supporting commercial accounts for Casualty claims
- Proper & active adjuster licensing in all applicable states
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal), evaluating, influencing, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Willing and able to travel 10%
