Responsibilities
Evaluate and analyze information gathered, insurance wording and damages to determine coverage in each situation
Assess potential civil liability of the insured and third parties in consultation with specialists
Negotiate settlements with customers, claimants, lawyers and insurers within your authority limits
Handle field assignments on behalf of in-house claims adjusters
Actively support claims management and other work during high-volume periods
Collaborate effectively with various teams including appraisal, underwriting and legal services
Ensure effective cost management
Stay informed about current trends in insurance products and appraisal and investigation techniques and services
Requirements
A valid AMF licence (5a/5b)
At least one year of experience as a home claims adjuster (telephone or field), with expertise in water and/or fire losses
A passion for customer service and strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, goal-oriented approach and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong technical aptitude and excellent computer skills
Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
A valid driver’s licence and a good driving record
Availability for travel on short notice
Solid understanding of insurance products
Bilingualism (English/French): Required for regularly handling claims from English-speaking customers
