Senior Water Engineer leveraging expertise to manage water and wastewater project delivery at Arcadis. Focus on client relationships and mentoring junior staff in Austin, Texas.
Responsibilities
Leverage expertise and technical knowledge to lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater projects
Manage projects and clients through the planning, design, and construction of water/wastewater conveyance systems, pump/lift stations, stormwater systems, and/or treatment plants
Create preliminary engineering reports, contract documents, drawings and specifications for construction
Oversee construction activities for both new builds and rehabilitation projects
Assist with system commissioning and ensure successful project execution
Prepare comprehensive design packages for engineering, procurement, and construction of water, wastewater, and stormwater pipeline and pump station projects
Coordinate project execution across multiple disciplines
Manage and lead client relationships by understanding their needs and providing innovative solutions
Oversee the preparation of winning proposals and impactful presentations
Supervise and mentor junior-level engineers and technical staff
Conduct condition assessments for water, wastewater, and storm system assets
Develop and manage cost estimates and project schedules
Requirements
Minimum of 8 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas (or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe).
Master’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
10 or more years of relevant experience (preferred).
TCEQ Water and/or Wastewater Operator License (preferred).
Experience serving as the engineer of record for water transmission/distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and pump station designs in the Texas region (preferred).
Established client relationships within the Austin/Texas market and a demonstrated history of securing and delivering water and wastewater projects (preferred).
Expertise in alternative delivery projects (preferred).
Active engagement in regional or national professional associations (preferred).
