Financial Controller overseeing accounting and financial operations at the Schulich Executive Learning Centre. Ensuring customer satisfaction and commercial success of financial matters related to the center.
Responsibilities
Responsible for overall accounting and financial operations of the Executive Learning Centre (ELC)
Manage food cost and labor cost to budget in conjunction with Executive Chef
Responsible for the management of all aspects of accounting including forecasts, cash handling, budgets, month end and year end P&L statements
Work closely with General Manager, Director of Food Service, & Executive Chef regarding Costs, Labor forecasting and F&B Strategy
Conduct training as needed and when required
Fully understand Point of Sale (POS), OPERA Property Management System
Prepare weekly and monthly reports for General Manager and Aramark, Schulich School of Business, and York University
Requirements
At least 3 years of financial planning & analysis experience
Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, accounting, business or a related subject
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interact and effectively communicate to senior management and diverse teams
Ability to coordinate a number of projects and prioritize accordingly
Collaboration skills and the ability to influence and get results without formal authority
Sound judgment and ability to learn quickly and adapt to new situations
Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
