Safety Engineer responsible for EHS management at customer and Applied sites. Promoting EHS programs and ensuring compliance with safety standards in Taiwan's semiconductor industry.
Responsibilities
Responsible for EHS related work at customer sites and Applied sites, to assist and enhance EHS management through promoting EHS programs of Applied Materials and customers
Maintain knowledge and understanding of EHS standards, policies, including customer fab EHS requirements
Be interface with Applied customers and field service team to assist in Applied vendors management and rapid response
Interact or communicate with Asia or Corporate EHS group in handling EHS issues or understanding newly released company-wide procedures and policies
Regularly communicate and meet with different function and location contacts to support their need and ease EHS concern
Communicates effectively with business units to report safety status, escalate issues, and present solutions
Deliver field contractor management plan, customer EHS requirement and awareness program to field contractors
To observe, evaluate work safety and find NORM in the field based on procedures, policies and BKM
Develop and/or implement programs to minimize risk to employees, customer and the environment
Gather EHS information and evaluate results
Be knowledgeable in understanding of EHS standards and policies
Acquire knowledge and understanding of Taiwan OSHA requirements, safety code and standard in their EHS discipline; Ensure site safety programs comply with local regulations and corporate requirements
Supports and facilitates Job Hazard Analyses (JHA) regarding field service scope to proactively identify and mitigate risks
Conducts thorough incident investigations using methodologies such as 8D, Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) Operational Learning, and other root cause analysis tools
Recommends and tracks corrective and preventive actions
To participate in compliance evaluation of products, programs, and facilities per company and governmental requirements
Maintain deep expertise in one or more EHS disciplines, including: Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Protection, Facilities/Industrial Safety, and Sustainability
Finish EHS related work assigned by direct manager or higher-level management
Support other sites or other region EHS work based on business assignment
Requirements
Graduate Degree or above
Great English skill with TOEIC 700 or above in reading and listening
Equivalent level in speaking and writing
Understanding knowledge in Chemistry, physics, biology, and toxicology related to EHS
Fundamental industrial hygiene concepts such as performing exposure assessment, identifying mitigating controls, hazard identification, SDS and PPE, but also the relationship between occupational hazards and employee health management
Fundamental knowledge in mechanical safety, electrical safety and fire prevention
5 years or above in EHS work experience
1 years or above EHS work experience in semiconductor / display manufacturing company
1 years or above contractor management
EHS Certificate and Training: Must: Occupational Safety (or Health) Management Specialist. Preferred: Certificate for training course of ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 internal auditor or lead auditor. First-Aid certificate and Professional emergency response trained Level A for environmental protection related (Air pollution, wastewater, solid waste, toxic substance)
