About the role

  • Senior Oncology Specialist providing clinical expertise and driving sales of oncology products across Houston and surrounding areas. Collaborating with medical professionals to implement effective marketing strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary customer contact to provide current and comprehensive clinical knowledge of Amgen's products and effectively communicate the clinical and economic benefits of the products to medical professionals.
  • Achieve territory sales by utilizing Oncology background and experience to: Create and execute on a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following-up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Craft an effective marketing strategy to aid in driving sales
  • Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with your District Manager.
  • Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and maintain a state of continuous curiosity and learning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related OR High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related
  • Preferred experience in Oncology
  • Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Product or hospital sales experience in the areas of oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation.
  • Local Market knowledge.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
