About the role
- Product Owner leading the development of software products for national priority programs at AMERICAN SYSTEMS. Responsible for managing product vision, stakeholder alignment, and development timelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of multiple software products for a critical defense program
- Manage a portfolio of closely-aligned software products
- Synthesize requirements from a wide array of internal stakeholders and external contractors
- Prioritize work to ensure each product’s development aligns with overall program objectives
- Drive product development by clearly defining and articulating Epics and acceptance criteria
- Ensure that all products adhere to rigorous program standards, security protocols, and operational requirements
- Monitor and report on product development progress, key metrics, and risks to program leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- 5-7 years of related work experience
- 3+ years of experience in product management or product ownership
- Deep understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and associated tools (e.g., GitLab, Jira, Confluence)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with SAP eligibility
- U.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance
