About the role

• Backend Engineer focused on developing scalable backend services for AI platform. Collaborating with teams to enhance internal workflows and drive feature rollout in Germany.

Responsibilities

• You develop and optimize scalable backend services that allow our customers to work reliably and quickly with our AI-powered platform
• You integrate new data sources via APIs and help make our amberAI smarter with each integration
• Together with our AI, frontend, and DevOps teams, you bring new features from idea to rollout
• You actively work on our microservice architecture, propose improvements, and further develop existing modules
• User experience and platform functionality are the primary focus of your code, followed by performance, modularity, and clean interfaces
• You consistently consider security, data protection, and data quality in your work
• Your code goes directly into a production system that is used daily, so you see your impact immediately

Requirements

• You have experience developing scalable microservices and routinely work with REST APIs
• You use Python daily, know the ecosystem stack, and apply it in production
• You also bring additional language knowledge in C/C++. Other languages such as Go, Rust, JavaScript are nice to have and can be used flexibly depending on the use case
• You are familiar with modular software architecture and have a good understanding of clean code and system design
• You are eager to grow and try out new technologies hands-on
• You communicate confidently and reliably — in German and English — with various stakeholders.
