About the role
- Strategic Finance Analyst supporting financial decision-making at AllTrails. Contributing to financial modeling, forecasting, and cross-functional analysis in a remote capacity.
Responsibilities
- Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for leadership, the board, and investors—from raw data pulls to polished presentations
- Contributing to ad-hoc strategic analyses cross-functionally (e.g., paid acquisition performance, product launch business cases, international market analysis, etc.)
- Maintaining detailed financial models to support budgeting and planning, and performing budget variance analysis at a monthly cadence
- Building and maintaining performance reporting and KPI dashboards for various departments using SQL and Looker
- Supporting inbound diligence requests and other ad hoc strategic projects as needed
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, management consulting, or strategic finance/FP&A, preferably with a focus on software and internet businesses.
- Exposure to annual and long-range forecasting, reporting on forecast vs. actual variance, and similar FP&A responsibilities.
- Proven track record of achieving goals and delivering results in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and business intelligence tools.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical rigor.
- Solid presentation skills, with the ability to communicate quantitative and qualitative insights clearly and visually.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to break down complex concepts and proactively share knowledge with teammates and stakeholders.
