About the role

  • Data Governance Summer Intern working for Allstate, supporting data quality and enforcing data standards. Collaborating with teams to ensure data integrity while gaining practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain data dictionaries and metadata repositories to provide a comprehensive view of organizational data assets
  • Establish and enforce data quality standards, metrics, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness
  • Define and enforce data standards, best practices, and guidelines to ensure data consistency and usability

Requirements

  • Currently in their 3rd or 4th year pursuing a Bachelor degree with a focus in Data Science
  • Analytical mindset, structured thinker and effective communicator
  • Proficient in Excel and Visio
  • Experience writing and documenting SQL code
  • Experience working with Metadata, both defining and assessing quality
  • An understanding of data practices (eg Metadata, Quality, Lineage, etc)
  • Bonus qualification: Knowledge and experience with Data Catalog/Governance tools using Informatica (preferred), Alation, Collibra, Purview is a plus
