About the role

  • Engineer I - Gas at Alliant Energy performing engineering tasks under supervision in gas transmission and distribution systems. Engaging in safety practices and learning industry standards for technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of engineering tasks with oversight
  • Plans or designs in support of construction, operations, and maintenance of gas transmission and distribution systems
  • Follows safety rules and practices
  • Identifies problems and suggests safety improvements
  • Learns to make low-risk decisions using technical knowledge
  • Establishes relationships with employees, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Prepares detailed project documentation

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited program
  • Previous technical and/or professional experience (preferred)
  • An internship or co-op in engineering (preferred)
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative and inclusive work environment
  • Demonstrated ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
