About the role

  • Director of Finance and Administration overseeing financial operations for IJM Canada. Leading strategic planning and compliance efforts to ensure efficient fund use and adherence to regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of IJM Canada.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and financial decision-making.
  • Lead month-end, year-end close, and reporting processes.
  • Develop and update accounting and finance policy and procedure manuals.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and other financial accounts.
  • Prepare and complete bank deposits and manage investment activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in fundraising or a non-profit environment.
  • Familiarity with CRA regulations, GAAP standards, and donor compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and Salesforce or similar applications preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Experience leading audits, interpreting accounting standards and managing payroll and finance teams.
