Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution of our design system from a component library to a governed product with clear standards, tooling, and measurable quality
- Implement AI best-practices to make the design system AI-powered
- Work hands-on in React – building, refactoring, and improving components in both code and Figma
- Define and document guidelines, best practices, and ADRs that other teams can understand, trust, and implement
- Establish governance mechanisms and maturity reporting for accessibility, responsiveness, and design consistency across teams
- Collaborate closely with other engineering teams to align on standards – building relationships that create buy-in rather than resistance
- Provide technical direction, structure and mentoring to a strong team
Requirements
- A developer with a background in React and modern frontend architecture
- Experienced in architectural decision making, discussions, refactoring initiatives, and cross-team alignment
- Solid hands-on experience building and evolving design systems beyond just component libraries
- A person who communicates clearly, creates clarity and reduces friction when attempting to guide teams effectively.
