About the role

  • Flight Test Instrumentation Engineer responsible for designing and deploying flight test instrumentation systems at Airbus. Involves equipment integration, documentation preparation, and anomaly investigation.

Responsibilities

  • You will be part of a team responsible for the full life cycle of a Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI):
  • From conception to deployment, going through equipment and system integration.
  • Definition and Design of Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI) installations onboard Flight Test Aircraft.
  • Prepare FTI Documentation to be provided to A/C installation Design Offices.
  • Define, perform and document FTI equipment and system integration tests on FTI Laboratory Facilities.
  • Anomalies in service investigation and solving.
  • Make or Buy processes.
  • New instrumentation technologies if applicable.

Requirements

  • Education in Aeronautic/Telecommunication/Electronic engineering.
  • Experienced in electronics development (component technology selection, electronics board design).
  • Instrumentation and Sensorics technology expertise (acceleration, pressure, temperature, etc…).
  • Metrological principles knowledge will be a plus.
  • Experience in Telemetry equipment (transmitters, antennas, amplifiers, cabling and elements calibration, operation) and Global navigation satellite systems.
  • Knowledge of WAN/LAN protocols stack (TCP, UDP, IP, SNMP, Ethernet, …) and specific flight test instrumentation protocols (IENA, Chapter 10).
  • Network Simulation & Analysis tools (Wireshark -dissectors-, IPerf, …)
  • Programming Skills in LUA, LAbView or Python.
  • Knowledge of the following documentation and tools are valuable: A/C installation documentation, NRD, A400M FTI Block Diagrams, Drawing Information Sheets and FTI Data Sheets, Sabre, Sabre Criev, STILo, N-Show, RODAS, EPD, TLB, FTI databases, DOORS, FIDA.
  • High ability to understand/find-out the behaviour of electronic devices and digital protocols.
  • Team spirit to work as part of a multidisciplinary team (sometimes under pressure).
  • Proactivity in problems finding and solution proposal.
  • Methodic, organized and assertive profile is expected.
  • English advanced.
