About the role

  • Claims Examiner managing Federal Workers Compensation claims at AIG. Providing technical expertise while ensuring timely and cost-effective claim settlements and differentiating AIG from competitors.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in directing and resolving Defense Based Act claims
  • Manage indemnity, medical and legal aspects of assigned claims
  • Utilize investigation, claim handling, litigation, and claim evaluation skills
  • Provide prompt effective customer service
  • Identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims

Requirements

  • Knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for Workers Compensation claims
  • Specialist knowledge of Defense Base Act claims preferred
  • Experience in settlement evaluation and negotiation
  • Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation
  • Strong communication, time management, administrative and report-writing skills
