About the role
- Claims Professional managing moderate to high exposure litigated claims in Construction Defect team at Zurich. Requires collaboration with internal and external contacts, providing technical claims service and negotiation.
Responsibilities
- Manage a claims caseload from assignment through resolution
- Provide technical claims service on primarily litigated claims of moderate to high exposure and complexity
- Conduct policy interpretation and coverage analysis
- Evaluate exposure and manage counsel and other vendors
- Collaborate with internal and external contacts, including underwriters, customers, and brokers
- Negotiate and resolve claims
- Manage communications and reporting associated with the life of a claim
- Some business travel (5-10%) may be required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management
- Juris Doctor and 2+ years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree with 6+ years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management
- Completion of Zurich Claims Training Program and 5+ years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management
- High School Diploma Equivalent and 8+ years of experience in Claims and/or Litigation Management
- Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
- Microsoft Office experience
- Knowledge of insurance regulations, markets, and products
