About the role
- Optical expert managing IR payload architecture for climate technology company ABSOLUT SENSING. Taking charge of specifications and performance analysis for space instrument in LEO.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the overall optical architecture of the IR spectrometric payload currently in industrialization.
- Develop and manage budgets: radiometric, spectral, geometric, SNR, QE, distortions.
- Define optical and functional specifications, in coordination with the systems team.
- Create optical models using Zemax OpticStudio, CODE V, or equivalent tools.
- Collaborate with the PM and systems team on the industrial development of the flight model.
- Lead the satellite Cal/Val campaign.
Requirements
- PhD or engineering degree in optics, physics, photonics, space instrumentation, or equivalent.
- 8+ years of experience in optical design of space instruments or IR spectrometers.
- Proven experience in defining instrument architecture for a space mission.
- Experience with LEO missions or scanning payloads is a major advantage.
