About the role
- As a Systems Engineer at Capita, monitor and support IT systems and infrastructure for customers. Collaborate within a dynamic 24/7 team in Belfast, addressing incidents and ensuring uptime.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring core IT systems and customer-specific infrastructure
- Providing first-line support for Windows Server platforms across both on-premises and cloud environments
- Delivering round-the-clock support for managed IT infrastructure, working on a rotating shift pattern
- Providing L1 systems support for servers running Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019
- Carrying out regular operation system changes
- Providing 1st line support for applications (web portals, IIS)
- Reacting to client logged incidents and requests through Remedy
- Assisting team with daily Backup failures, System Recovery with Backups
- Review Application logs
Requirements
- Experience with Windows in a 1st and 2nd line role support capacity
- Experience with VMWare
- Ideally, experience with Azure and Unix
- Basic understanding of IP network, IP address, network devices and their role
- Eligibility for Security Clearance
- Previous experience of working in a 24x7 shift environment would be beneficial.
