About the role
- Application Engineer for the Automotive Aftermarket Division at 3M, collaborating on product solutions and demonstrations for body shops. Support existing and new products while enhancing customer profitability.
Responsibilities
- Support of Existing and New Product and Process to our MSO (Multi Shop Organizations) – including NPI introductions, trainings, continuous improvement, and other application engineering activities.
- Showcasing 3M products and process solutions and how they can increase profitability for body shop customers.
- Hands-on product demonstrations for small and large groups (internal and external training)
- Collaborating with product development teams, channel partners and business teams to provide practical solutions to our customers and be the voice of the customer in all situations.
- Creating and implementing customer facing technical collateral and training content.
- Supporting and troubleshooting with sales professionals & end-users involving existing products and new product introductions.
- Testing & benchmarking the competitive landscape and bringing the voice of our customers to the lab and business.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science, engineering, or business discipline from an accredited university
- At least 3+ years of experience serving industrial markets such as collision repair, paint industry, manufacturing, OEM, or insurance industry.
- Previous hardware / software experience with automotive calibration & diagnostic equipment
- Previous experience in application engineering, technical service, technical training and/or technical sales
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office etc.)
- Current, valid driver’s license is required.
- 5+ years of experience in the collision repair industry
- Excellent communication & organizational skills (written, verbal, listening and presentation)
- Ability to efficiently analyse, problem solve and implement solutions.
- Possess strong & effective "hands-on" demonstration techniques.
