About the role

  • Utilities Engineering Lead providing strategic and operational leadership for Pfizer's Net Zero initiatives and engineering programs. Collaborating on energy reduction targets and operational improvements across critical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for the PGS Utilities Engineering Organization.
  • Manage Net Zero Strategy and Engineering programs (such as HVAC, Water Systems, Electrical, Grey Utilities, etc.).
  • Drive the engineering aspects of the global strategy and implementation of the Net Zero initiatives along with subject matter expertise of critical equipment and systems.
  • Ensure operational effectiveness of ensuring standard operations, deploying change management tools, driving continuous improvement, resolving technical challenges, and providing subject matter expertise.
  • Maintain relationships at sites or within the broader PGS network.
  • Assess NZ technologies and develop enterprise strategy for utilization
  • Collaborate on site level NZ execution strategy to ensure aligned corporate goals
  • Present opportunities to sites to optimize performance, efficiency and sustainability including digital solutions
  • Provide input and guidance in ideation and design of projects to improve sustainability and mitigate quality and supply assurance risks
  • Support of sites to achieve energy reduction targets
  • Guide project and utility teams to resolve equipment/facility issues
  • Ensure compliance to regulatory norms, best practices and global policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8+ years of experience; OR a Master’s degree with more than 7+ years of experience; OR a Ph.D. with 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience working within a pharmaceutical industry or related manufacturing environment managing a large engineering, maintenance, and utilities organization.
  • Strong administrative, leadership, strategic and technical skills are a must.
  • In depth working knowledge of Reliability, Energy and Sustainability, Utility Systems and EHS Programs, as well as pharmaceutical manufacturing operations expertise
  • Financial, budget and PO management experience
  • Credible Leader in the EMU community and PGS that will drive a "One Engineering Community"
  • Extensive experience with a broad customer base and technical teams.
  • Strong capability to establish rapport with OpU/Cluster leaders.
  • Strong partnership skills
  • Global experience beneficial
  • An exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, resourcefulness and innovative capabilities.
  • Understanding market trends.
  • Strong Change Management leader
  • Ability to establish a strong governance process and report on performance metrics
  • Ability to develop presentation materials and present to senior leaders
  • Strong understanding of critical systems such as HVAC, Water Systems, Electrical, Utilities, etc.
  • Strong understanding facility related services (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building envelope/fabric, etc.) and Utility systems (boilers, chillers, compressors, cooling towers, etc.)
  • Strong capabilities to understand, lead, and nurture a growing business support program.
