About the role
- Lead frontend development for Slack Platform, building in-Slack experiences, third-party integrations, and Work Objects while mentoring engineers and improving cross-team systems.
Responsibilities
- Brainstorm with Product Managers, Designers, Backend, and Frontend Engineers to conceptualize and build new features
- Produce high-quality results by contributing heavily to team projects that have significant business impact
- Own team features or systems and define their long-term health
- Work cross-team and cross-functionally to deliver best outcomes for the business
- Assist support and operations teams in triaging and resolving production issues
- Mentor other engineers and perform deep code reviews
- Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
- Build and maintain in-Slack experiences, developer surfaces, third-party integrations, platform interactivity, and Work Objects
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience writing client-side Typescript, Redux and React
- Expertise in building complex layouts with CSS and HTML
- Experience building and debugging complex systems in a team environment
- Experience with modern browser technologies
- Strong UX and design sensibilities
- Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and empathy
- Self-awareness and a desire to continually improve
- A related technical degree required
