About the role

  • Lead the evolution of Chronogolf, Lightspeed's consumer mobile product, transforming tee time booking and golfer engagement
  • Lead high-level product portfolio initiatives through hands-on design and contribute to product strategy and vision
  • Understand business objectives to solve highly abstract problems and shape teams to solve problems efficiently
  • Break big problems into smaller experiments to validate assumptions and drive progress
  • Explore and integrate AI and emerging technologies to shape new approaches
  • Work with product teams to develop data-informed design strategies, create user scenarios, journey maps, and mental models
  • Independently drive in-squad UX research to generate actionable insights and influence the product roadmap
  • Advocate for the user and build strong relationships with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, marketing)
  • Define, evolve, and implement design system principles across platforms (typography, colour, depth, iconography, illustration, layout)
  • Provide mentorship to product designers, lead end-to-end projects with minimal supervision, and manage own backlog
  • Collaborate with designers across product teams to elevate consistency and quality and refine team processes
  • Communicate effectively with global stakeholders through strong written and verbal skills

Requirements

  • 8+ years of design experience from product-driven tech companies, demonstrating measurable impact
  • Hands-on experience designing for mobile and touch-based interfaces
  • Experience designing for React Native
  • Proven ability to set and manage design priorities, guided by product and business needs
  • Expert knowledge of design systems implementation
  • Strong aesthetic judgment and deep understanding of visual design principles and industry trends
  • Successful track record consulting with engineering teams to develop effective, feasible technical solutions
  • Experience using prototyping and research methodologies to validate decisions and drive product strategy
