About the role
- Staff Deploy Software Engineer overseeing software application strategy, integration, and test automation within GM's manufacturing plants. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and technical excellence.
Responsibilities
- The Staff Deploy Software Engineer is responsible for driving the strategic vision, deployment, automation, and cross-functional integration of software applications used globally in GM’s manufacturing and Customer Care and Aftersales (CCA) plants
- The successful candidate will architect robust solutions for software test automation, champion the evolution and implementation of software applications, and work hands-on building out full-stack application environments
- Manage and maintain technical vision and direction for software applications, define, manage and implement processes to enhance deployment and testing
- Provide analysis and site-specific business configuration required to meet launch and deployment initiatives
- Investigate IT system integration problems and provide technical input in problem resolution
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work experience
- Experience in leading technology teams with strategic and tactical responsibilities
- Experience with Agile teams that have regularly delivered software while practicing code review
- Knowledge in end-to-end applications hosted on Kubernetes with a focus on scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance
- Proven experience diagnosing issues from browser to infrastructure to network to database and all the way back
