About the role

  • Develop and expand test automation framework and test coverage across Unit, Integration, and End-to-end tests.
  • Develop working knowledge of the entire application stack and maintain tests at all levels; groom and prune tests to ensure optimal coverage and deduplication.
  • Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of digital assets (websites, applications, software, documents) to identify barriers and ensure WCAG compliance.
  • Participate in design and development reviews to identify accessibility challenges and provide inclusive design guidance.
  • Provide training sessions and workshops to developers, designers, and stakeholders on accessibility best practices.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Engineers, Data Engineers to define testing for new features and contribute automated tests.
  • Define and implement mechanisms to inject testing earlier into the software development process; champion clean code and the test pyramid.
  • Identify and promote best practices in code health, testing, testability, and maintainability; prioritize test parallelization and reliable CI/CD execution.
  • Configure automated tests to run reliably and efficiently in CI/CD environments; track and communicate test results in an automated manner.
  • Analyze complex software systems to improve design, testability, and quality; work independently on well-scoped and loosely-scoped problems.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in work experience.
  • Two years of programming/development experience (must have).
  • Four years of programming/development experience preferred.
  • Two years experience preferred in evaluating digital products, including websites and applications, for accessibility from the perspective of users.
  • Certifications from IAAP or DHS Trusted Tester or similar (preferred).
  • Experience with accessibility tools (Axe Development tools, Andi, Wave, etc.).
  • Experience with screen readers: NVDA, VoiceOver, JAWS, TalkBack, or Narrator.
  • Software development experience with accessibility focus.
  • Ability to provide training and mentorship to developers and designers.
