About the role
- Senior Sustainability Auditor conducting audits in sustainability and compliance for textiles and apparel supply chains. Collaborating with clients to ensure adherence to Higg FEM and SLCP protocols.
Responsibilities
- Conduct third-party verifications and assessments in accordance with Higg FEM and SLCP CAF protocols.
- Perform both on-site and remote facility assessments, ensuring high standards of professionalism and objectivity.
- Review documentation, conduct worker and management interviews, and perform on-site inspections.
- Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely audit reports in the prescribed formats/platforms (e.g. Worldly, SLCP Gateway, FFC etc).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving protocols, industry standards, and client-specific requirements.
- Liaise with clients, facilities, and internal teams to ensure audit readiness and protocol compliance.
- Provide guidance to facilities on continuous improvement in line with verified results (without consulting).
- Uphold the highest levels of integrity, confidentiality, and impartiality in all audit engagements.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional audit experience in sustainability, social compliance, or environmental management.
- Active and valid qualifications/certifications for: Higg FEM Verifier.
- SLCP Verifier (CAF 1.6 preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Social Science, or a related field.
- Knowledge of local Srilankan laws and regulations and local Srilankan language.
- Familiarity with sustainability standards such as ISO 14001, SA8000, WRAP, BSCI, or similar frameworks is desirable.
- Strong report writing and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in English and Tamil; additional language skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently (both domestically and internationally, as required).
