About the role
- Senior Project Manager responsible for managing complex renewable energy projects in Europe. Leading teams and ensuring project delivery on time and budget from development to operation.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex utility-scale renewable energy projects (PV, Wind, BESS) across Europe, with a strong initial focus on projects in Germany
- Ensure timely, cost- and budget-compliant execution from late-stage development through to commercial operations
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including legal, technical, PPA, sales, financing, and permitting specialists
- Prepare and submit internal investment approval documentation and present project opportunities to senior management
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, quality standards, and the risk management framework
- Manage contracts and relationships with external advisors, contractors, service providers, and investors
- Serve as the primary point of contact for local stakeholders including landowners, municipalities, DSOs/TSOs, and public authorities
- Maintain proactive risk identification and mitigation planning throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure a structured project handover to Operations and Asset Management teams
Requirements
- Degree in engineering, renewable energy, project management, or a related field
- Proven track record of managing complex renewable energy projects (ideally PV, Wind and/or BESS) in Europe, including grid connection and permitting phases
- Strong leadership and coordination skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
- Experience with internal investment processes and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Ability to manage a broad range of external stakeholders and build long-term, trust-based relationships
- Familiarity with regulatory and market frameworks in at least one major European energy market; knowledge of the German market is a strong asset
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing project conditions and drive fact-based decision making
- Structured, organized and proactive working style, with a high degree of independence and accountability
- Excellent communication skills in English and German
- Willingness to travel within Europe as required
