Senior Project Manager responsible for managing complex renewable energy projects in Europe. Leading teams and ensuring project delivery on time and budget from development to operation.
Responsibilities
Manage complex utility-scale renewable energy projects (PV, Wind, BESS) across Europe, with a strong initial focus on projects in Germany
Ensure timely, cost- and budget-compliant execution from late-stage development through to commercial operations
Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including legal, technical, PPA, sales, financing, and permitting specialists
Prepare and submit internal investment approval documentation and present project opportunities to senior management
Ensure compliance with internal processes, quality standards, and the risk management framework
Manage contracts and relationships with external advisors, contractors, service providers, and investors
Serve as the primary point of contact for local stakeholders including landowners, municipalities, DSOs/TSOs, and public authorities
Maintain proactive risk identification and mitigation planning throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure a structured project handover to Operations and Asset Management teams
Requirements
Degree in engineering, renewable energy, project management, or a related field
Proven track record of managing complex renewable energy projects (ideally PV, Wind and/or BESS) in Europe, including grid connection and permitting phases
Strong leadership and coordination skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary and multicultural teams
Experience with internal investment processes and presenting to senior stakeholders
Ability to manage a broad range of external stakeholders and build long-term, trust-based relationships
Familiarity with regulatory and market frameworks in at least one major European energy market; knowledge of the German market is a strong asset
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing project conditions and drive fact-based decision making
Structured, organized and proactive working style, with a high degree of independence and accountability
Excellent communication skills in English and German
Willingness to travel within Europe as required
