About the role

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of projects within the Platform space
- Designs solutions for projects on behalf of their team, including writing technical documentation
- Contributes to project planning, foreseeing dependencies and risks. Constructively partners with other disciplines to de-risk delivery (e.g. Product, Experience)
- Works with their team and adjacent teams (when relevant) to deliver projects and solve problems
- Leads the work of other engineers, breaks down projects and guides design and implementation choices
Requirements
- Pride in readable, well-designed, well-tested solutions
- Ability to take a lead on the direction for a technical area in the platform space (eg. Containers, Kafka, Networking)
- Extensive experience with infrastructure tooling, ideally Terraform
- A strong background in software engineering, preferably with Go and/or Python
- Proven leadership skills, including coaching, team-building and generally supporting peers and colleagues
- Proven ability to define and run projects from inception to delivery
- Proven ability to coordinate technical projects across multiple teams
- Proven system design experience
- Extensive experience with AWS cloud computing
- Experience with datastores, ideally PostgreSQL, DynamoDB and/or Redis
- Experience of working closely and building relationships with customer engineering groups
