Senior Physical Engineer performing electrical engineering design and analysis in Renewables group. Responsible for project leadership, QA/QC, and mentoring within the team.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Physical Engineer in the Renewables group, responsible for performing engineering design and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer.
Support client projects and provide quality deliverables that are on time and within the defined budget.
Project-based leadership, with focus on project scope, budget, task delegation, client interaction, execution, and ensuring technical quality.
Consult regularly with the Team Lead on key decisions and activities.
Implement the NEI Quality Assurance Plan and check work of designers, drafters, and engineers for accuracy.
Train junior level engineers and designers in physical design of electrical substations & BESS facilities.
Assist with developing technical guidelines and training documents.
Work closely with Technical Directors and Team Leads on projects.
Review detailed physical engineering for one aspects of electric power substations & BESS facilities.
Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, and proposals for complex projects.
Provide coaching and mentoring to Team Members.
Perform occasional field inspection and construction supervision services when needed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s in Civil or Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
FE or PE preferred.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
