About the role

• Senior Physical Engineer in Utility Substation group providing engineering design and analysis. Supporting client projects and ensuring quality deliverables within budget and timeline.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design and analysis under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer.
• Support client projects and provide quality deliverables that are on time and within the defined budget.
• Implement the NEI Quality Assurance Plan.
• Check the work of designers, drafters, and engineers for overall quality and accuracy.
• Train junior level engineers and designers in areas of physical design of electrical substations.
• Write technical go-bys and training documents.
• Assist with the creation and enforcement of technical standards across the department.
• Manage deliverables and deadlines to ensure they are submitted on time.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to Team Members.
• Perform occasional field inspection and construction supervision services when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Civil / Structural or Mechanical from an accredited institution is preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience.
• FE or PE preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MathCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
