About the role
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations for Japan and Korea; create and submit monthly payroll data to vendors
- Generate payroll movement reports for Payroll Lead and Regional Finance
- Manage social insurance processes and employee support
- Resolve employee queries related to payroll and timecard management with business teams and vendors
- Prepare monthly payroll journal reports for Finance
- Assist onboarding and offboarding related to employee benefits; provide data for government surveys and compliance
- Manage Defined Contribution Pension Scheme and create official documents (e.g., maternity leave)
- Calculate severance packages and handle Japan 36 Agreement Notifications for overtime and holiday work
- Conduct end-of-year tax adjustments and provide operational support for audits
- Provide strategic support to HR Business Partners and deliver payroll-related analytics to support business decisions
Requirements
- BS or BA in Business, Human Resources, or related field — or equivalent relevant experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in end-to-end payroll processing
- Background knowledge of HR practices and procedures
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general PC skills
- Strong work ethic and a collaborative team player
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Full proficiency in English, Japanese and/or Korean
- Up-to-date knowledge of social insurance systems and labor laws/issues
- Experience with payroll vendors and monthly payroll submission
