About the role

Senior Legal Counsel providing legal advice for product and business development in a dynamic tax app company. Guiding compliance with EU regulations while enabling market growth.

Responsibilities

Be the dedicated legal partner for specific product and business development teams, advising on the end-to-end lifecycle of new services and features.
Lead legal workstreams for new market entries or product launches, ensuring all local regulatory, consumer protection, and commercial law requirements are met.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial and platform-related agreements, aligning with both risk management and business enablement.
Proactively collaborate with Compliance to embed regulatory requirements (especially consumer and data protection laws) into product and commercial development.
Support cross-functional legal initiatives and contribute to broader strategic projects that shape our legal operations and frameworks.
Translate complex legal issues into accessible, actionable guidance for product, design, and customer teams, and promote a culture of self-service and legal enablement.
Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions, ensuring efficient and quality legal support on cross-border topics.

Fully qualified lawyer in Germany (Zweites Staatsexamen) with 5+ years of post-qualification experience, including at least part of it in-house at a B2C tech, fintech, or platform business.
Proven experience supporting product and commercial teams, with a focus on EU consumer law, e-commerce, and platform regulation.
Strong track record of handling cross-border legal topics, especially in Spain and the UK, with the ability to collaborate with local counsel and navigate jurisdictional nuances.
Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate commercial agreements independently and pragmatically.
Solid understanding of GDPR and other relevant compliance regulations, with practical experience advising on their application in digital services.
You are proactive, solutions-oriented, and can communicate complex legal topics in a clear and constructive way to cross-functional stakeholders.
You thrive in a fast-paced, international environment and enjoy taking ownership of your projects and priorities.
Business fluent in English; German is a strong plus. Additional languages like Spanish are a bonus.
