About the role

• Senior Java Engineer developing application code based on functional specifications for IT consulting firm. Working on scalable enterprise systems and collaborating within a diverse software development team.

Responsibilities

• Develops application code based on functional specification and given architectural design in the area of data collection, validation, enrichments and adjustments;
• Reads and understands functional design documents and writes corresponding technical design documents;
• Maintains configurable components;
• Creates test cases for new functionality;
• Performs defect fixing in all test cycles;
• Ensures that the code passes daily build, deployment and smoke tests;
• Provides support for incidents, problem/root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Extended experience in Software Development (8+ years);
• Proven experience in similar implementations with complex business logic: microservices architecture implementations, cloud migration/implementation, OAUTH2 implementations;
• Strong knowledge of Java 8, Java 17, Spring 5, Spring 6, Spring Boot 2, Spring Boot 3 (Spring Batch, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, Web Flux, Spring Quartz), Maven;
• Strong knowledge of REST architecture and good knowledge SOA architecture;
• Data exchange with JMS, Kafka, RESTful services;
• Strong knowledge of Oracle database, SQL and ORM Technologies (JPA2, Hibernate);
• Strong knowledge of build automation systems such as TeamCity or Github Actions;
• Strong knowledge of microservice architecture (async communication between microservices, Saga pattern);
• Cloud experience (migration or applications running on cloud) with Google platform or AWS;
• Monitoring: Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana;
• Continuous learning about latest changes in the main project technology (java, spring);
• Develop new software programs and improve the performance of existing ones;
• Proactively proposing enhancements from with technical and business benefits;
• Drive optimization in the solution and the development process.
