About the role

• Lead Engineering Technologist providing technical expertise and managing residential development projects at Duke Energy. Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to solve complex problems
• Oversee the training and development of the hierarchy
• Engage in strategic oversight and management of work in a specific area of expertise
• Managing processes and preparing work orders to achieve success for capital improvement residential projects
• Maintaining relationships with land developers and home builders through timely execution of their project work plans
• Collaborate closely with Resource Optimization Planners and Schedulers, Operations Construction, and Operations Contractor Partners
• Perform customer communication, planning, engineering, coordination, and administration of Residential Development Project Team underground subdivision work
• Conduct field investigation and designs using standardized design tools and applications for RDT projects

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) AND six (6)+ years minimum required related experience
• Associates degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) AND eight (8)+ years minimum required related experience
• In lieu of degree(s) and experience listed above, High School/GED AND 12+ years minimum required related experience
• Increasingly proficient in applying principles of project management
• Experience in the utility industry
• Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department
• Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles
• Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing and presenting recommendations
• Electric utility distribution design experience
• Maximo software experience
• BOUD software experience
• Effective time management skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
