About the role
- Lead Engineering Technologist providing technical expertise and managing residential development projects at Duke Energy. Collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure project success.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical expertise to solve complex problems
- Oversee the training and development of the hierarchy
- Engage in strategic oversight and management of work in a specific area of expertise
- Managing processes and preparing work orders to achieve success for capital improvement residential projects
- Maintaining relationships with land developers and home builders through timely execution of their project work plans
- Collaborate closely with Resource Optimization Planners and Schedulers, Operations Construction, and Operations Contractor Partners
- Perform customer communication, planning, engineering, coordination, and administration of Residential Development Project Team underground subdivision work
- Conduct field investigation and designs using standardized design tools and applications for RDT projects
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) AND six (6)+ years minimum required related experience
- Associates degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) AND eight (8)+ years minimum required related experience
- In lieu of degree(s) and experience listed above, High School/GED AND 12+ years minimum required related experience
- Increasingly proficient in applying principles of project management
- Experience in the utility industry
- Department specific experience applicable to the hiring department
- Demonstrated advancing application of engineering theories and principles
- Increasingly proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, preparing and presenting recommendations
- Electric utility distribution design experience
- Maximo software experience
- BOUD software experience
- Effective time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
