Serve as senior-level project manager on the most complex engineering projects for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC)
Independently direct multiple projects and/or programs and manage full lifecycle of multiple complex projects
Provide direction and oversight to lower-level engineering staff and consultants including supervision, performance management, delegation, and review of work product
Serve as primary project manager for development and administration of complex traffic, facilities, design, and/or construction projects
Develop scope of work, participate in consultant selection, and manage plans, specifications, standards, and cost estimates
Develop and manage project scheduling, cash flow projections, and compliance activities
Perform field investigations, reviews, and surveys to ensure adherence to standards and specifications
Identify and resolve potential problems; review and approve plans, specifications, studies, invoices, and estimates
Maintain liaison with internal/external staff, consultants, governmental and transportation agencies; meet with property owners and agencies
Prepare and review detailed reports, documents, and recommendations; attend meetings and represent PTC in committees and trainings
Participate in traffic and safety surveys and manage various PTC engineering programs
Apply broad engineering principles and use situational awareness to anticipate and prevent accidents
Requirements
Eight (8) years of engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline
E-6: Possession of a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers
Possession of a valid driver’s license; must obtain and maintain a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within six (6) months of employment
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the Commission will not sponsor applicants for work visas
Certain units may prefer a bachelor’s degree in a specific engineering discipline
