About the role
- Drive transformative AI/ML projects at American Family Insurance across claims, pricing, underwriting, and marketing. Design and implement scalable solutions enhancing customer experiences and operations.
Responsibilities
- Create business application and modeling framework for new datasets
- Discover insights and relationships from large/complex datasets through investigative research using advanced mathematical and statistical techniques
- Explore data using a variety of advanced statistical techniques to identify relationships, create insights, and answer business questions or guide future model development
- Build the hypothesis, identify research data attributes and determine best approach to address business issues
- Build complex predictive models to support our goals
- Build complex programs for running mathematical or statistical tests on data and for understanding complex relationships across attributes
- Research and maintain awareness of industry best practices and business strategies
- Use findings to provide industry and competitor insights as part of model development
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-focused solutions or support
- Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database access, scripting, statistical analysis, and system development
- Understanding of software development best practices including source control, coding standards and testing frameworks
- Demonstrated experience formulating complex analytical problems using a quantitative, scientific approach
- Demonstrated experience working with complex datasets using big data technologies and script
- Demonstrated understanding managing data to scale using data summarization, query and analysis software and tools
- Demonstrated experience applying advanced and new data science methods, including Generative AI
- Demonstrated experience in cloud platforms, modern programming languages like Python and common AI/ML architectures
- Demonstrated experience working with large, multi-modal datasets which may include text, audio, images, video, and documents
