Clinical Data Manager supporting the biospecimen and clinical data management for WVU Cancer Institute. Engaging in data collection, management, and reporting for research and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
Provide high-level support related to the collection, management, and reporting of patient clinical data.
Support translational and basic science research by ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant capture of clinical data.
Gather, record, and maintain clinical and treatment-related information for internal reporting, quality assurance, and research use.
Conduct record review, data abstraction, data quality checks, and support BioTRAC research and administrative objectives.
Maintain individual research subject records by obtaining and organizing data from medical records, lab reports, treatment schedules, and other documentation.
Prepare and provide de-identified clinical data extracts or summaries for investigators in accordance with approved protocols and policies.
Participate in meetings and project planning related to BioTRAC research support activities.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, biology, health informatics, or other related field
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in clinical research, data coordination, tissue banking, or medical record abstraction
Skilled in retrospective medical record review and clinical data abstraction.
Experience working with clinical databases or registry-style data systems preferred.
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Attention to detail and data quality that is essential for accuracy in data handling.
Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnoses, and treatment modalities.
Proficiency with basic data systems, databases, and office software such as, but not limited to, Epic, REDCap, Microsoft Office, EDC systems, and OnCore.
Ability to communicate effectively with research staff and clinical partners.
