About the role

  • Design, implement, and optimize Snowflake environments for scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead the build-out of full Snowflake data ecosystems, including ingestion, pipelines, transformation, governance, and cataloging.
  • Connect Snowflake to third-party tools (ETL/ELT platforms, BI tools, APIs, cloud services) and ensure seamless data flow.
  • Architect high-performing, scalable data models to support advanced analytics, reporting, and machine learning.
  • Implement robust security controls, audit mechanisms, and data governance frameworks tailored to regulated industries (HIPAA, GxP, GDPR).
  • Coordinates with diverse teams, including those globally.
  • Frequently utilizes coding to facilitate data processing and reporting.
  • Provides project leadership for team members regarding process improvements, planned approaches for client requests, or transition of new deliverables.
  • Monitors progress, manages risk and ensures key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes; manages project finances by maintaining financial summaries, drafts SOWs for new work, and manages client invoices.
  • Assists in supporting management.

Requirements

  • Engineering/master’s degree from a Tier-I/Tier-II institution/university in Computer Science or a relevant concentration, with evidence of strong academic performance.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering/architecture roles.
  • Minimum 3+ years of **hands-on Snowflake experience**.
  • Expert-level SQL and strong Python scripting abilities.
  • Proven knowledge of query optimization, workload management, and Snowflake-specific features (virtual warehouses, clustering, micro-partitioning).
  • Proficiency with ETL/ELT platforms (dbt, Informatica, Talend, Matillion, Fivetran).
  • Experience with orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, Dagster).
  • Familiarity with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong project management and people management skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of data management best practices in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Ability to thrive in an international matrix environment and willingness to support US clients during US working hours with 3-4 hours of overlap.
  • **Preferred Qualifications**
  • Snowflake Certified Architect or equivalent certification.
  • Prior experience with **life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare data**.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GxP).
