About the role

  • Partner with Accounting and Finance teams to identify sources of truth for reporting on transaction volume, revenue, and transaction lifecycle events (refunds, chargebacks)
  • Use internal sources and external payment provider data to reconcile payments and Clio revenue to create an independent source of truth
  • Partner with stakeholders, self-serve report creators, data scientists, and data engineers to create meaningful, intentional data solutions
  • Standardize source-of-truth dashboards and apply best practices to convey the most important metrics for the business
  • Create and edit data models for users to answer business questions and optimize queries and reports for performance
  • Effectively communicate findings and feedback to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Work with the Business Intelligence Manager to govern the BI environment and empower self-serve stakeholders leveraging data and dashboards
  • Proactively identify and resolve gaps in training, learning resources, and other roadblocks preventing stakeholders from leveraging data for decision making

Requirements

  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant quantitative discipline (computing science, statistics, mathematics, etc.)
  • 6+ years applied experience in business intelligence and/or data modeling
  • Proficiency in database modeling, SQL, and data warehousing principles
  • Proficiency with data visualization and data storytelling
  • Understanding or familiarity of SaaS business metrics such as MRR, churn
  • Experience with financial reporting and tying data between internal systems and external payment providers like Stripe
  • Experience reconciling payments and Clio revenue using internal and external payment provider data
  • Proven experience with cloud-based business intelligence tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A drive to find root causes and establish gold standard in source-of-truth reporting
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in improving your craft by using AI
  • Serious bonus: experience working with Redshift or other cloud data warehouses
  • Serious bonus: experience with dbt as a data transformation tool
