About the role

  • be a key member of the Fidelity Investments Life Insurance ('FILI') accounting team
  • support the accounting and reporting of the investment portfolios for FILI and its affiliated reinsurer, Soteria Reinsurance Ltd.’s
  • responsible for monthly and quarterly financial close including investment and other journal entries, account reconciliations, and analysis
  • prepare schedules supporting quarterly and annual regulatory filings and financial statement reporting for investments and other schedules as needed
  • review the investment portfolio for compliance with internal investment policies and regulatory filing requirements
  • support the audit process with external auditors
  • maintain financial controls and understanding of accounting and financial processes

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; a CPA and/or Master's degree or equivalent training is a plus
  • Experience in the Financial Services Industry (3 to 4+ years) preferred
  • Understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, practices, and internal controls
  • Ability to quickly understand and connect key concepts and dependencies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of financial systems and dynamic reporting tools work (i.e., Oracle) and are highly proficient in Excel
