Safety and Compliance Director ensuring overall safety performance and regulatory compliance at Airgas. Leading a team and collaborating across multiple business safety functions.
Responsibilities
Report directly to the ANC Business President with dotted line reporting to the APG Division VP of Safety
Responsible for overall Safety Performance and Regulatory Compliance of the Airgas National Carbonation business unit
Lead a staff of 3 functional experts who provide front-line, field support
Spend significant time in the field supporting drivers, technicians, and other elements of business operations
Demonstrate Safety Leadership to lead Business initiatives & ensure ongoing Business priorities are met and safety KPIs achieved
Identify trends and develop strategies as part of a Safety Improvement Plan
Develop and execute annual audit plans
Identify any gaps in current processes and develop strategic plans to address them
Drive Division & SAFECOR resources to address business needs
Lead monthly safety meetings including development and distribution of materials
Collaborate and coordinate with other Business Safety & Compliance Managers
Lead crisis management & Incident Investigation for injuries, motor vehicles, and all incidents
Ensure corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) are identified, assigned, and driven to closure
Ensure a comprehensive Safety Management Program is in place and aligned with Division & SAFECOR initiatives
Direct oversight of the complete workplace safety program and structure
Ensure every existing stand tank has a P&ID on file and completed risk assessment
Work with fleet SME to review standard truck design
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
7-10 years of experience in several of the following disciplines: Worker’s Compensation, EPA, OSHA, DOT, and General Employee safety
Supervisory experience including employee performance management
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college, preferably in safety, engineering or a related technical field (preferred)
Professional certification in Safety and Compliance (i.e. Certified Safety Professional) is a plus (preferred)
